Grace Starbird
Receptionist
Veterinary Hospital
Grace Starbird is a jack of all trades - but currently serves in a part-time capacity as the receptionist for WTAR’s full-service Veterinary Hospital!
Grace has an extreme passion for the welfare of all furry animals. She wanted to get more involved and started by volunteering with Wolf Trap Animal Rescue in May of 2016. This only increased her desire to work with rescue animals and learn more about the rescue world.
In her own home, Grace has two dogs, both rescues! Also, her family has two WTAR rescue cats!
Grace graduated summa cum laude from Longwood University, with a bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology. She hopes to continue her education and get her master’s degree.
She enjoys being part of her community, now in Falls Church and previously when she was living in Washington, D.C. This involves starting a mini exercise group for some of the seniors in her neighborhood and providing mentorship for neighborhood children. Grace is passionate about advocacy groups for human rights, anti-trafficking, and immigration. She volunteered in India with an all-boys group home and in some of Mother Teresa’s homes.
In addition, Grace loves to cook and try any and ALL restaurants; she would consider herself a foodie. Once upon a time, she could eat an entire Costco pizza by herself! She also loves catching new films, working outside, camping, and hiking, but of course her favorite activity is spending time with her animals.
